Position Status: Permanent part time

Hours of work:  11.5hrs, Saturday and Sunday - 8.30 am to 3.00 pm

Closing:  Friday, 7 September 2018 at 4pm

About the Role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking applications for the position of Waste Management Centre Operator at the Waste Management Centre of Council’s Engineering Services Department.

This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis.  The successful applicant will work on Saturdays and Sundays only, between the hours of 8:30am to 3:00pm. They will generally work in a small team undertaking the full range of duties associated with the operation of the Bathurst Waste Management Centre. This will include monitoring the transfer station, operating a skid steer loader, wheel loader and compactor, and a heavy rigid truck, assisting in the gate house and other duties as required.

Key requirements:  
  • Driver's Licence - Class HR
  • Certificate of Competency and experience in operating Front End Loader and Skid Steer loader
  • Proven experience in operating tipping trucks and using compaction equipment
  • Knowledge of waste management procedures
  • Working knowledge of WHS procedures
  • Experience in dealing with difficult customers to reach successful outcomes
  • Ability to operate computer operated cash handling systems.
